Dog Webrings Managed by dlpwriter at webring.com
My family normally had a dog as I grew up. Just two years ago, my father picked a schnauzer-poodle mix dog from the local animal shelter. My mother had Alzheimer's. She had tried to keep my brother's schnauzer and then asked her "Daddy" (really her husband) to buy her a dog. They visited the animal shelter and a recently picked up stray ran over to my Mom and just wagged his tail and showed the personality he had to Mom and Dad. Dad told the shelter he would take that dog although it had badly matted fur and generally looked horrible. He waited for them to do the free neutering that was covered by the adoption fee. Then he took the dog home and gave it a bath and a hair cut.
My mother died recently. Max (dog) remained steady in his love of my Mom even as she laid dying. He would get up on the bed, lay across her legs, and put his head right on her hand just begging her to pet him one more time. This is my final memory of my Mom and brought a bright spot to a very difficult time.
These are the "dog related" webrings I have adopted in memory of my Mom. If you would like more information on any of them, or to join them, just click on the word "" on the appropriate webring navbar.
